Donald Trump Says Shootings Will Happen ‘No Matter What’

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/10/04/donald-trump-says-shootings-will-happen-no-matter-what/

During President Obama's speech on the recent Oregon Shootings, he mentioned a statistic which said that more Americans have died at the hands of their own people in the past ten years than at the hands of terrorist. This statistics made American realize that new laws need to implemented in order to reduce these tragic deaths. However, Donald J. Trump in this article believes that laws in place now are fair and there will be people who "come through the cracks, and they’re going to do things that people will not even believe are possible". In accordance with other rivals in the bid for the GOP Nomination Trump has taken the same stance for gun laws. I think that Trump's comments on gun laws are accurate and actually well thought out. In history, when the temperance movement happened and alcohol was banned in this country, crime (for selling "moonshine") sky-rocketed. By making guns harder to get there can be a similar reaction of a increase in crime rates. For the people who might argue about causalities which could've been prevented through background check, there is also a case that people might change after they have a gun in their hand after bereavement. The deaths statistics which were posted on blogs and social media about the American deaths also featured deaths through suicide and domestic violence. Based on that, I believe there will be American lives lost regardless governmental intervention.
