This article attempts to speculate why Biden chose not to run for the Democratic nomination. The article is focused on the concrete evidence to why Biden chose not to run: he lacks support compared to Sanders and Clinton and he lacks the money to run. The article compares each candidate based on their popularity and their money.
I think that the article is limiting Biden's decision to only a couple sources. I could see how these were some of the reasons that Biden chose not to run. However, I think Biden's choice not to run was more than just popularity or money; the article admits that Biden's approval rating is higher than Clinton's and the example of how Sanders made a considerable amount of money over the summer.

I agree with your point Stephen that one of Biden's reason not to run was because of his lack of support and money compared to those of both Clinton and Sanders. However, another reason, which possibly can be the greatest reason of all on why Biden choose not to run, is that Biden's son Beau Biden, who tragically died on May 30, 2015 due to Brain Cancer, caused Biden to focus more on family matters rather than political affairs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Stephen, Dilpreet, and the article in that Biden didn't run because of the polls and money. However, I believe another key reason he decided not to run was because he was also lacking time. His campaign was never solid since it was questionable whether he would run for primaries from the beginning. Nevertheless, two weeks before an election would've been a bit late to run considering he missed the opportunity to speak at the Democratic debate and rally to popularize his views. No doubt if he had an earlier start, his supporters would've grown both in terms of polls and finances.
