Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, will issue a proposal on Monday on how to curb gun violence as a result of the Oregon shooting. As a democrat running for the presidential nominee, Mrs. Clinton constantly speaks about gun control. Mrs. Clinton believes that anyone who wants to buy a gun must go through a background check. Also, Mrs. Clinton believes that anyone who is a fugitive should not be allowed to buy a gun. A common loophole in today's gun policy is that if a background check takes longer than three days to complete, then anyone is allowed to buy a gun. This is how Dylan Roof, the Charleston, South Carolina shooter, obtained his gun. If Hillary Clinton's proposal were to go through, then it can be expected that it will be harder to obtain a gun and that anybody buying a gun must first go through a background check.

Hillary Clinton's stance is valid, and it will help regulate the sales of guns. This will trace who has a gun, and hopefully reduce the crime rate. Hillary Clinton' s law could be another compromise for both parties.
