Trump has made some quite offensive remarks about Mexicans: They're [Mexicans] bringing drugs, they're bringing crimes, they're rapists, and some I assume are good people". It's ironic and extremely alarming to learn that a Mexican immigrant would support Donald trump's candidacy, even after he expressed his derogatory opinions about Mexicans.
Apparently, the reason this Mexican immigrant supports trump is because she firmly believes that he is a patriot, and that he will 'make America great again'. She also mentioned that it took her ten years to officially become a U.S. citizen, which I believe is the reason behind her endorsement of trump. Because she has endured and overcame the struggles of becoming a American, she believes that all immigrants should be obligated to do so.

I agree with her support of Trump as that everyone should have to go through a certain waiting and stuff but to be honest how could she after the things he said about her race. He has made her people seem bad and called them horrible names. Yes they should go through legal ways but there is no reason to call them such thins and treat them certain ways.
ReplyDeleteTo be very honest I think that this Mexican immigrant has either been bribed by Trump's campaign or she doesn't fully comprehend Trump's motives for building the wall and his views on immigration in general. Her reasons for supporting Trump really have no substance and honestly make no sense. How is he making America great again when a large part of this country's population is made up of immigrants and our culture is based on the different cultures of these immigrants. We are known for our diversity, not the amount of white conservative people we can find in this nation. The woman I this video has no ground for her support for Trump as she makes herself look like a fool for agreeing to build a wall which she herself may be forced to build if Trump becomes president and goes through with his absurd and shaky plans.
ReplyDeletePeople like to say that America is accepting of immigrants and that all are welcome but in reality we're pretty xenophobic. It shows in our history with things such as the Chinese Exclusion Act, the treatment of Irish Immigrants, etc. The fear of Mexican illegals seem to be this generations xenophobia and Trump looks like he is just capitalizing on that phobia.
ReplyDeleteThe irony of this situation is that Trump is voicing the opinions of stereotypes which have haunted history as half-truths, rumors, or just a dark moment in history. For this Mexican women, Trump is saying that your people aren't worthy to live in the United States, so why you would support one of his policies, goes over my head. You really think he's going to make you an exception to the rule because you support one of his policies? Either you were bribed like Celina suggested before in her post, or you really need to rethink your priorities.
