Fiorina needs next debate to reignite her campaign

After a recent slide at the poll strategists agree about the importance of a strong performance during the upcoming October 28 debate. Fiorina has twice benefited from well-received debate showings. According to The Hill her campaign took in about 1.5 million in donations following her September debate performance. GOP strategist, Ron Bonjean, says, "shes largely faded away from the national conversation because shes not taking on Trump in a controversial way or trying to grab the headlines." Lately she has been trying to put a foundation of support in some states which has caused this reduction in the polls.

  1. I agree that Fiorina may just need another strong and memorable performance at the next debate to bring more attention to her and her campaign. I also agree that having controversial, fiery responses to certain issues such as gun control like Trump has does perhaps bring news and stories in media and television to let the people know more about the candidate and take notice of he/she. Since Fiorina is not often in the spotlight as other candidates like Trump, Carson, or Clinton, it may be difficult for her to stand out from the rest of the candidates and make an impression on why she would be the best candidate as president.

  2. Fiorina should make herself more known in the media because through that platform she can reach people with her ideas. She seems to be working on her policies and popular among the masses after debates. She has to put herself out there, and people will want to know more.

  3. I agree that Fiorina needs to maintain the limelight in order to keep her campaign running. I find it interesting that the article pointed out and questioned Fiorina's target demographic; for instance, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, not especially rich candidates, managed to win past Iowa caucuses by galvanizing evangelicals. I think Fiorina, despicable as it might sound, should start to push the "woman card" further as a tactic, and galvanize her female supporters as a target demographic, just as Clinton has galvanized hers. I think the fact that she is running as a female candidate can pose a real advantage, and I don't think she's used that factor to the fullest yet. Of course, being a republican candidate will certainly not yield the same support compared to a a democratic candidate, since women tend to lean left, but any support is welcome and should be considered.

  4. It's strange that Fiorina's campaign isn't doing more to stay in the spotlight. After two strong performances at the debate, Fiorina held the nation's attention. But by not publicizing herself, she has gone down in the polls.
